totally stole this, though i resent the "unlikely to meet another woman in his profession"

So.... BMW, what are you doing later? ;-)

Choose an engineer over...

=> DOCTORS
Supposedly, all women are after a Doctor, so don't expect your relationship to last more than 5 years. Eventually, he'll run off with some nurse from his office, or one of his young women patients that is pretending to be sick. He'll wait until you are stuck with a few kids to do this. This is not a problem with your Engineer husband. He had a hard enough time meeting you. It is unlikely he'll ever meet another woman in his profession.

=> LAWYER
Do You seriously expect an honest, trusting relationship with someone who gets paid for lying? Once again, this is not a problem with your Engineer spouse. He doesn't have enough social skills to lie convincingly. An additional drawback to marrying a lawyer is when the divorce happens you will get nothing.

=>SALESMAN
See honesty segment under Lawyer. Plus, he will be traveling to trade shows, etc. where he will be in the company of other equally trustworthy individuals. Don't be surprised when you get the invitation to show up on the Ricki Lake show. The company that your Engineer husband works at will keep him in a cage, often called a cubicle, until he is ready to go home to you.

=> HAZARDOUS PROFESSIONS, I.E. POLICE OFFICER, FIREFIGHTER, CONSTRUCTION WORKER, ETC.
Your husband, if he is not dead by some accident, will likely be crippled with a back injury, etc. just about the time you are at your sexual peak. The only hazards that your Engineer husband will face is losing his eyesight by staring at the terminal for too long. This hazard actually has some benefits. For one, he will not notice that you are getting older, since you will be a blur. He will remember you as when he first met you, because the memory will still be sharp, and you ask "Honey, were you looking at her?", he'll honestly be able to say that he didn't even see her.

Vote for Andy!

So i went to the Martin's family party, which turned out to be a Libertarian rally. Politics isnt really my baliwick, but I got to hang out wiht crystal, adam, jeff, and helena. I enjoyed myself.

This morning, Mr Martin calls me. Adam is running for superientient of high ways, and they need additional ppl on the ballot. Mr Martin thought of the origin of my last name and wanted to know if I would run with Adam for the office of Receiver of Taxes.

Unfortunately, im registered in Alllegeny county, and cant run. However, Andy can. I hunted my brother down to see if he would agree, and to my surprise, he was game. The petition collecting is going to be a pain, but i think itll be worth it

So now my brother is running for public office.

He'll be 18 in August

So by the time i finish this entry, i'll be 19, and oh my, let's see what else can go wrong in hte next 24 hours, and i'll be lucky if I'm awake for 12 of them.

In the past 5 days, i've been lucky if i'm awake for 6 out of 24 hours.

I am stuck in the place i worked so very hard to get away from.

And now this.

The older I get, the more I prefer a computer to ppl. A program does exactly what it says it does. If its written wrong, well you get what you deserve. And then there are ppl; more specifically the ppl on this island. There's so much talk, of what to do, when to do, verbal exchanges of promises or favors, of and planning. More talk of how serious they are, how much their promise means,

and then, and then
nothing gets done

and theres MORE talk, excuses, rationalizations, excuses, blame, apologies, more excuses. Hours and hours of it, manuscript upon manuscript, and for all that talk

nothing gets done

19 years worth of talk, and i've failed all three of my major goals.

So much talking about how life after hs and its still all talk

its all as much empty as my graduation speech was

How fitting that the plans for the celebration, something we've *said* we'd go do since we were freshmen, have fizzled

and I'm still the one holding the bag, and having to scramble to find a fix, because i believed

for 19 years worth of talk, i still havent learned anything
